Earlier this month, AviaGames founder and CEO Vickie Chen spoke with Women-Led Games about her journey in mobile gaming and the ideas that shaped the company. During the conversation, she reflected on building AviaGames around two guiding principles: community and purpose. Rather than simply following industry trends, Chen focused on developing games such as Solitaire Clash and Bingo Tour, titles designed not only for competition but also for bringing players together and occasionally supporting meaningful causes. She also discussed how company decisions are influenced by shared values that the team continues to discuss and refine over time.

Chen also shared the early story behind AviaGames. Before starting the company, she noticed that many games were designed mainly for hardcore players, which made competitive gaming feel difficult to access for a broader audience. She began asking a simple question: why can’t competitive games be both challenging and easy to learn? In 2016, that idea led to the founding of AviaGames in a small garage in Mountain View, where the company began as an experiment to see whether skill-based games could be made accessible to more players.

Since then, the company has grown steadily. AviaGames now develops several in-house titles and has built a diverse team, with more than 40 percent women in leadership roles. One of its most recognized games, Solitaire Clash, has surpassed 60 million downloads and hosts hundreds of millions of tournaments each month. The game continues to rank highly in its category on iOS and the Galaxy Store, reflecting the strong response from players who value fair competition and thoughtful design.

Beyond gameplay, AviaGames has also expanded its efforts in community engagement and nonprofit partnerships. Campaigns such as Play for Paws, created with Nevada SPCA, and Wonderland Wishes, launched with Foster Love, have connected gameplay with real-world impact. Through these initiatives, players have helped generate donations supporting animal welfare and foster youth. As the company approaches its 10th anniversary, AviaGames continues to focus on innovation, regular game updates, and community-driven initiatives that connect mobile gaming with broader social impact.
