Scholarships for Indian Students to Study in Ireland

Ireland has become one of the fastest-growing destinations for Indian students pursuing higher education. With over 5,000+ Indian students enrolled in Irish universities as of 2023/24, the Emerald Isle is now a top choice thanks to its globally ranked institutions, industry-focused courses, and English-speaking environment. Types of Scholarships in Ireland for International Students
i) Government-Funded Scholarships: One of the most prestigious financial aid options available is the Government of Ireland International Education Scholarship (GOI-IES). Each year, around 60 scholarships are awarded to non-EU students, including Indians, offering: A €10,000 stipend, Another option for postgraduate students is the Irish Research Council Scholarships, which support academic research across science, humanities, and engineering fields. These programs are highly competitive but offer generous funding, making them ideal for high-performing Indian students.

ii) Non-Government Scholarships : Several private and non-profit organizations also extend support to Indian students heading to Ireland. Well-known examples include: J.N. Tata Endowment, Inlaks Shivdasani Foundation, Education Future International Scholarship & more – low-interest loan scholarships for postgraduate studies abroad. Though these are not Ireland-specific, many Indian students use them to partially fund their education in Irish institutions.

iii) Institution-Specific Scholarships (Universities and Colleges): Most Irish universities and private colleges offer exclusive scholarships to international students based on merit, talent, or need.
