The Problem: What’s happening?

A number of user accounts were logged out, and their local archives were exported using the built-in administrative tools ahead of the planned shutdown of the old server. The legal team was left with 42 orphaned Lotus Notes database files on local hard drives.

When team members attempted to open these files in other desktop email clients, the files were totally unrecognizable. Also, some of the older database files had been corrupted because of minor structural defects caused by sudden server disconnects in previous backup cycles. Challenges in Data Recovery
