FromSoftware the president of FromSoftware Hidetaka Miyazaki's passion for the late Kentaro Miura's manga series and animated show Berserk is perhaps the most secluded secret in Elden Ring Runes game industry. Although he doesn't openly discuss the connections between his games and Berserk but it's obvious that every Miyazaki project released following the 2009 release of Demon's Souls has been influenced in some way or another by the epic dark fantasy Miura created over 30 years until his death in 2021.

The tendency to draw comparisons to Berserk naturally extends to Elden Ring, the Souls successor to the game that came out in the last month. Prior to the game's launch, fans eagerly scoured every piece of advertising material to point out how the armor resembled something from Berserk or that enemy's design appeared to be drawn from Miura's work. And having spent nearly 100 hours with this game over the last few weeks I couldn't resist the urge to observe these similarities, too.
